Reptile birthday party!

Conner had a reptile party this year and I will say it was an easy party to plan for because it was at home and he only invited 4 friends. Which only 2 of his friends could come, so it was really an easy going party. And actually I was starting to feel bad we didn't invite more friends, but then realized Conner was having a blast with his 2 buddies that came.
They had swamp juice, DQ cake and played some games, but mostly played with legos.
It was super hard for me to keep our present for him a secret (for a whole month), but I did it. So our secret was that we bought him a reptile tank for his future bearded dragon. He was so surprised when he opened the gift and it was a tank, he had no idea that's what it was.

One of Conners friends sister came too and she just loved our cat.

Son, you’ll outgrow my lap, but never my heart.

Working together

It took Josh (with my help and his dads) one weekend to finish putting in the wood floor. Everything went really good and we didn't have any issues with it.

I thought this was a cute quote and kinda true for Josh and I.

All done!
Thank you husband for working so hard on this!!

Enjoying the sun with Fur ball.

This is in our back field Mr. and Mrs. Goose are enjoying a quiet morning in the field. :)

We have been enjoying our walks in the field and woods now that it is warmer out. The other day we met a guy on his tractor and he said to watch out for a big bobcat in the area and bears, that are not so nice. :/

Our artist!

We have a another artist in our family!!
We are so proud of him.
He drew this cave art deer picture in art class and his teacher knew it should be in the art fair and so it made it there. His eyes got really big and couldn't believe his art would be shown at the art fair. He kept telling me that his art made it and I said are you sure? He kept to his story and he was right. :)

The whole family
And yes, this picture will be framed and put somewhere in our house.

I made myself a half apron and here it is on me. It's not perfect, but its cute and it fits.

Here is yet another project we are doing in our house. This is the nasty 70s carpet underneath the carpet that was recently in our living room. I am so glad to be getting rid of this carpet.
Josh worked his butt off and got the whole living room done in 2 days. It is now all wood floor. Pictures to come on my next blog entry!

Sewing spring dresses and Conner reading

Conner is starting to really get the hang of reading. We have been trying really hard to get his sight words known, so he will do better with reading. At Wal-Mart the other day I noticed Dr. Suess books were on sale so I bought a couple of them and told Conner to try reading them. He tried and now loves to read them the best he can. His favorite so far is, Green Eggs and Ham. I can't wait for him to be able to read chapter books and really learn new things.
Reading to his brother

So as far as my sewing is going, well pretty good, but lets just say this was going to be a dress and turned into an apron. Well hey at least it turned into something rather than scraps.

I am working on a dress now, I had to buy a pattern this time though.

My half apron

Almost finished half apron
Hopefully my dress will look similar to this when I am done with it.

Well my dad is back from the Philippines, he got us some cool stuff including this Malong. I will be probably using it in the summer when we are camping or when the boys and I go outside to sit under the stars. It is beautiful fabric and definitely for summer. Thanks dad!

Some pics from the Philippines that really touched my heart. Mostly kids on the cement sleeping, so sad.
I really hope that these kids get the help they need and find a wonderful home one day. I hope that they will grow up and help others that are in need.

Please Lord help these beautiful children to know you and to become lights in this world one day, Amen.
