Something special in the mail and Happy Halloween!!

Yesterday I received something special to me in the mail. My Aunt T. sent some recipes that were my grandma Librandes.
Because I do not have any grandparents around anymore and because I never met my grandma Librande, these are very special to me. I can make things she made and would have probably taught me to make once I got older. I love old things that have meaning and history.

Also,
Happy Halloween!!

Women of faith

This last weekend I went to Women of faith with my friend in St. Paul. This was my first time going and let me tell you if you want to be encouraged and renewed in your faith you should go to WOF. I heard speakers I have never even heard of.

We saw some of our friends, it was just a fun girls day. We also went on a little walk in a neighborhood in St.Paul.
Thankfully while driving we didn't get lost thanks to SallyAnne, the gps. ;)

I took some pictures while walking in St.Paul and thought the plaque about Italian immigrants was interesting along with the ragged Charlie Brown statue. My great grandpa lived and worked in St. Paul on the railroad, he was from Italy. I love learning the history of beautiful cities like St. Paul.

Burn Bright

This is a song Natalie Grant sang at WOF and I was so touched by this song. She wrote this as a letter to her nephew who dealing with an addiction. Sometimes I try to find the words to help someone  who is going through a rough time and can't think of anything encouraging enough to help them. This song is exactly what I would want to say to them and I truly believe that so many people who are in the darkness and not making the right choices are made to shine and made for life, and made for so much more. You can rise up from the ashes and make something beautiful of all the broken pieces, These words are so powerful and they just touch my heart every time I hear them. I see so many suffering and need to hear the words of this song, its said so well. I AM BELIEVING THAT YOU WILL COME RUNNING INTO THE ARMS OF JESUS!!

A little MoUsE hunt....

Im sorry but there are a couple of things I cannot stand in my house and one of them is mice running across the floor and your cat catching it, but then playing a game of squeeker with it. OMG, I about lost it when she was doing that(then I told myself, its ok just think of it as a pet, Ummm NOT!) I am not kidding this mouse chased me down the stairs and made me jump on the table, so Carter the brave child had to get a net and try to catch it for me. So as Im standing on the table I told him where it went and guided him through this. Well after a few minutes the little mouse escaped, we have no idea where it went. So that night I went to Menards and got the best traps around. When I got home I put some cheese on them and placed them everywhere I thought there would be a mouse. So in two days we caught about six mice, yes, gross!! I was thinking O there is probably just one or two in here. Well anyways I had my dad, who is a pro at getting your house sealed up for winter, go around and seal any little hole up. As he was doing this he found about 5 different holes mice were getting in, wow! Thankfully, I think we pretty much have it under control. I am so thankful, because I had a hard time sleeping in my bed and I used almost all my peppermint dropping it all over so the mice would stay away.
