Ice fishing all the time!

Ice fishing has been our big thing for January as always. We really enjoy going and so do the boys, especially when we catch something.
January has surprisingly been super busy, so it really flew by. I have been keeping busy with my Med. Transcription 1 class and I am really enjoying editing Transcription files. Everything is new to me for this class from using a foot petal to creating a Macro.
Enjoy all the ice fishing pics.....

Night fishing is the best, we caught 8 bluegills and a couple crappies.

Cleaning the fish, notice who is watching besides the boys?

                                  Ice fishing with our church.
Conner rode behind the snowmobile for at least an hour, he loved it.

It was a great time had by all!

Even Sadie was with us all day and she was pooped from everyone playing with her.
(And no this is not in Conners bed, it was on the living room floor, sometimes the boys get to sleep downstairs).

Fun at the boys friends party!
Us moms gotta have fun too, so we joined the boys in playland at skate city.

                       Birthday fun!

Josh getting ready for another fishing day and kitty helping him, lol.
Night fishing again with our new friend.
And finally a picture of the 17 inch bass Josh and Conner pulled in from a tip up.
This is our fun times for January. Hope everyone has a LOVELY February! ;)

What are essential oils?

I have had some people asking me lately what are essential oils. So I will explain the best I can what essential oils are and how you can use them.

ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are aromatic volatile liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes and seeds.

  • Essential oils are some of the oldest and most powerful therapeutic agents known. They have a long history of use in healing and anointing  throughout the ancient world.
  • Many essential oils can be supportive to the immune system, moods, muscles and more. Many can be relaxing, uplifting, enhance clarity of thought and support emotional well being. Each essential oil contains several to several hundred different kind of molecules, each of which offers benefits in promoting good health, healing and regeneration. The more oils we use, the healthier we get.

Here is my pinterest account for the YL oils:

This is one of my favorite essential oil lists:

How to use essential oils:
Inhalation
Inhaling certain essential oils heightens the senses and can have many positive effects on the body.
  • Inhale directly
  • Diffuse with any of Young Living's premium diffusers (I have one and absolutely love it).
  • Carefully pour hot water into a bowl and add a few drops of essential oil. Cover your head and bowl in a tent-like fashion with a towel. Breathe deeply and slowly.
Internal Consumption
Some essential oils make excellent dietary supplements or food flavorings. To take essential oils internally, try these tips:
  • Place several drops into a gelatin capsule and swallow it with water.
  • Add 1-2 drops to a glass of water, NingXia Red or other natural juice, or even yogurt.
  • Add 1-2 drops (to taste) to your meals when cooking.
  • Add 1-2 drops to a teaspoon of Young Living Yacon Syrup or Blue Agave and swallow.
Topical application
Many essential oils are safe to use directly on the skin:
  • Place 2-3 drops of oil in the palm of your hand or directly on the desired application.
  • Use one of Young Living's essential oil roll-ons or add an Aroma Guide fitment to the bottle of your favorite essential oil for targeted application.

Also, I do order just about every month from Young Living. :)

Here are some of my own testimonies of what the oils have done for me and my family.

  1. I had Conjunctivitis (pink eye) last year and I put Lavender, purification with coconut oil around my eye (never put the oils in your eye) and my pink eye was gone in 2 days, without any drops.
  2. My oldest got stung by a bee last summer and I put Lavender and Purification around the sting immediately and within 15 minutes all the pain was gone and he was fine.
  3. I started to feel like I was getting the stomach flu last Christmas Eve, so I put Peppermint and Thieves on my stomach and the bottom of my feet, within a hour I felt fine.
I could go on and on about how the oils help, but I am so thankful for them and definitely urge you to try them. I do of course believe if there is a serious medical emergency go to the doctor.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Polar Adventures

January started out with cub scout camp for the whole family, it was really fun.
Josh and I even played a couple of the winter games with another couple and all the kids, Josh even got to the throw the chicken (a game called chicken toss or something like that?) and he threw it into the woods so the kid on the other team had to go get it and then Josh had to run around our huddle and however many times he ran that's how many points we got. Well we lost by two points, so close. :(

First time skiing on the trail for the season!

He did great,we went about a mile.

First time ice fishing for the season finally. If it was up to me we would have been out there five more times by now. We caught about five crappies and went home and had an awesome fish fry, great night.

There cuddling!!
I had to throw this in here because of there cuteness. Sadie is usually not allowed on the furniture, but once in awhile Ill let her. ;)

Somebody worth mentioning....
Last week I found out my second cousin had passed away due to a massive heart attack. I only met her a couple times when I was younger, but she is someone I will never forget. She was very kind and a fun person to be around. When I visited her home, she let me help feed all her dogs and even gave me a sled ride.
She had mentioned a couple of times for me to come back and help with the dogs, well to be completely honest I was very shy and thought I would get too homesick, now I wish I would have at least once gone back and visited her.

My thoughts and prayers are going out to her family at this time.

I CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST, BUT I CAN DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN THE FUTURE.

She did alot of sled dog races.

Her showing me the puppies.

I was 14 here holding one of the future sled dogs.

Christmas break went way too fast....

We celebrated my moms birthday the Saturday after Christmas at her house with all her kids this year and then finishing the night at the bowling alley. It was a great time and having a ugly sweater contest added to the fun this year.
My moms birthday cake! This year she wanted a chocolate candy cane cake, so that's what I made her.

Let the family fun photos begin.....

Ugly sweater boys

Ugly sweater girls
And the winner is...... Yes, I knew he would win since I made this. ;)
Yep, I went to goodwill and I was not gonna pay $25 for a ugly sweater so I found this sweater with nothing on it for $6 and then bought some old towels and hot pad with Christmas designs on it and wallah I made a ugly sweater for less than $10!

All my moms grand kids
