Taxidermy, coffee and a quick summer

Wow, it has been four months since I updated my blog, sorry.

So my husbands taxidermy business has been busy this summer, which has been great. You can follow his work on Facebook- Water's Edge taxidermy. He loves doing taxidermy, it is neat to see his finished work.

Josh and I have started something new- selling healthy coffee! We tried Organo about a year ago and we both like it so much we are distributors now. Here is a brief overview of Organo coffee-

Organo coffee contains Reishi mushroom in it, which has many health benefits. It was even used thousands of years ago in the Han dynasty in China. It is known as the King of herbs.
This is organic coffee!

Health benefits-

  • Boosts immune system
  • Anti-Cancer properties
  • Detoxification of the body
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Boosts energy
That is just some of the health benefits!

If you are interested in trying some let me know!

Here is our website- http://jkcarlson.myorganogold.com/
*You can order directly from our website too!*

The boys have been enjoying V.B.S, swimming lessons and soon my oldest starts his band lessons, wow!

I still fight with the thought of homeschooling with public school not being perfect for us, but I do enjoy working there as an aide and will continue to do that this fall. We will see how the boys do this year, homeschooling is always in the back of my head. I miss organizing my curriculum and getting our "school room ready." The boys would like me to homeschool again too. :/

Here is some pictures from our adventures this far-

Working to get our garden started!

Painting our farm table!

Saving a baby Wood duck from our dogs!

Spying on Josh painting a fish!

Kayaking on our camping trip!

Little Charlie!

My oldest has a new hobby, collecting bobbers and fish baits. He finds all kinds of these while kayaking!

My boys taking care of tree frogs!

Camping with cousins!

That is all I have for now!
I will update again soon, hopefully! :)

Cub scouts

My oldest has been involved with Cub scouts since kindergarten and I will say he has had the best teacher the whole way through.
Next year he will be crossing over to Boy scouts, O boy will I cry, but with tears of joy. I cannot believe how fast that came up, but so excited to see the many things he will learn and the many adventures he will go on.
So proud of him!

Some things we have been up to-
Trying downhill skiing for the first time, except my husband has tried it before.

I will say it was a bit scary, but towards the end of the day, we all got better and less scared. My oldest picked it up fast and became an expert at the end of the day. I think I will stick with cross country skiing, but maybe try down hill once in awhile.

This was just before a really steep hill, lets just say I ended up walking most of it.....

Cross country skiing in our back field. It was the Worm moon.

O yes, and our new puppy Charlie! He is the sweetest thing and him and Sadie are bffs! He is a Shi Tzu and we got him from Joshs aunt who has like 5 of them, not for sure on that. We love their cute little faces and we think he looks like Wookiee from Star Wars.

How sweet!

Snow days!

In our neck of the woods, we have lots of snow and it is cold. We have had 3 snow days! Usually, a snow day entails, eating yummy snacks, playing lots of games, having a nerf war and watching a good movie. We even went outside and built a few snow forts and went skiing/snowboarding. It has been a crazy winter and lately the boys have been asking every day, is there school today?! They have got used to no school recently, that's for sure.

Everything is back to normal this week though, which is fine with me. I do like them home, but too many snow days get crazy.

The last picture is of our new puppy, his name is Charlie Bear and he will be coming home in a couple of weeks! We are excited and hoping our big dog will get along with him. I have always wanted a small dog.
Why small dogs are fun-
-They can ride in your basket on your bike
-The boys can easily walk him
-Good snugglers :)

♡Happy February!♡

My experience with Young Living oils

I thought I would share a little about my experience with Young Living oils.

First-
Essential oils- An essential oil is a concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants.

So basically the good stuff from a plant made into an oil. :)

The first time I was introduced to Young Living when I was about 13 or so I am not sure my exact age. I went with my dad to his friend's house and she and her husband used Young Living. She really loved them and shared that knowledge with my dad and me. I was really too young to care too much about them. I just knew it was interesting how they worked.

So now after I had my second child I started getting headaches and so I started using Peppermint oil and Lavender. Ever since then and experiencing how they do help I have been using them ever since. Now I use them for everything. When I get a burn on my hand I grab my Lavender (Swiss army knife of oils), if I feel like I am getting a cold I put Thieves on the bottom of my feet (the oils act faster and more efficiently on the bottom of your feet), if I have a bad cut I put Oregano around it (antibacterial). These are some of my many uses of the oils. They have been wonderful for my family.

The ancient Egyptians even used them in their mummification process and for cleanliness and skin care.

I also like to use my YL diffuser, it is a wonderful natural way to purify the air.

Some of the uses of diffuser-

Ward off illness- By diffusing oils into the air you can kill airborne germs before you become ill.

No chemicals in the air- using a diffuser is free of chemicals.

There are many other uses, just google YL diffuser uses and you will see many reasons why diffusers are a great natural option.

Some of my favorite oils-

Peppermint-
I love the smell of Peppermint and it relaxes me.

Lavender-
I love the healing properties of Lavender and it smells pretty good.

Jasmine-
This is my favorite oil because of the smell. I LOVE the smell of Jasmine!

Lemon- I just love lemons and the smell is wonderful. I love using Lemon in my water for my mop.

Purification-
If I feel like I am getting a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)  I immediately put this oil on my lower abdomen with coconut oil and it almost always takes the start of a UTI away.

So this is just a bit of information about the essential oils I use. If you are interested in these oils go to- https://www.youngliving.com/en_US

🌿I am a Young Living distributor, so if you would like to order any of these products let me know🌿

End of 2017 letter

We have had a very cold week here, which was kind of a bummer. We wanted to go skiing, sliding with some friends while the boys had a week off of school, but with the cold weather that did not work out.
We are hoping to go ice fishing soon, so hopefully it will warm up a bit.

This year really went by fast, we had a wonderful summer camping at the campground and a couple other campgrounds around here. We really enjoyed camping this summer as the boys are older and they can help more.

Joshs business also really picked up this year. Waters Edge Taxidermy is his business name, pretty proud of him. He does European mounts and fish, for now, he is practicing to do fur-bearing animals. He is busy every day and he may even teach me some of the skinning so I can help since he has gotten so busy.

I am working at the school where the boys go as a substitute aide, I really enjoy working with kids. It truly is the best job, I really think I should of gone to school to be a teacher.

The boys are getting older, my oldest still likes building legos, and now moving on to building things with wood. He could be outside for hours building snow forts. My youngest likes to try dude perfect tricks all day. He loves Dude perfect and comes up with the craziest dude perfect trick shots. Like off the piano side shot, lol. He stood on the piano and tried to make a basketball shot (we got him a Dude Perfect basketball hoop for Christmas). He is also really picking up on his reading, so excited about that. I really hope one day I will see both my boys lost in a good chapter book, its coming someday!

This winter we have all been enjoying puzzles, we went to Grumpy and Grandmas one day and got hooked, haha.

In 2018- we are getting a puppy. Joshs aunt has Shih Tzus, and her dog had pups, I told her we only wanted one if she had a male and her dog had 3 girls and 1 male, wow it was meant to be! We are thinking about naming him Charlie Bear, that was decided as a family.

Well we hope you all have a wonderful 2018 and that Gods peace will be with you all!
Here is a scripture verse that has been one of my favorites this year-

Angel with her pups. Ours hasthe most spots.

Two love birds, the mommy and daddy to our pup! This is the sweetest picture to me. As soon as Angel was done feeding the pups she came out to the living room and her mate was waiting for her and instantly began licking her face, the sweetest doggy moment ever!

Doing puzzles.

Helping daddy build.

Surprise bday party for Josh!

Lots of kayaking!

Cousins at the campground.

Snow!

We have snow, I do love snow for Christmas!

Our beautiful woods behind us and also my friends Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal, love birds.
Pretty soon we can go cross country skiing and my youngest would say snowboarding of course!!
