We started school

I got creative for the first days chalk board. So every picture they had to guess the meaning. So book meant reading, the hand washing, health and so on. Neat idea, hey!

Carter is  a tricky one to get motivated for school, it can take him awhile..... ugh!
But then when they get motivated they do great things!

Conner doing his math on the computer.
1st day school pics. I will get better ones eventually.

Carter wanted a pic with the cat in the tree, haha.

This year was so much easier to Homeschool, because I made the choice this past summer, not two weeks before school. It is so much better when you know what you want so you can organize. We are using Sonlight and so far we enjoy it. Anyways, happy schooling!

Volunteering at Natures Edge.

We love NE and so we wanted to continue going there by volunteering. We love all the animals and know most of their names. The boys and I are having lots of fun helping there. Our chores include, walking the animals, picking up poop and just loving them.

Fun in the city!

We had a great time a couple of weeks ago in St. Paul. Aunt T. had told us about a church that my great grandpa helped build. So anyway I think she meant, The Cathedral pictured here. Absolutely beautiful inside and out.
The boys in front of The Cathedral.

We finally made it to the science museum in St. Paul. There was so much to see, I felt overwhelmed with all there was to see and learn, but the boys seemed to love it.

My favorite part, the Mummies, so cool. I could stare at them all day. It was amazing to me that I was looking at something so old and to see the cloth and other things they used back then amazed me.

Our favorite part of the whole day.....COMO ZOO, geez and that was free. Anyways, it was so fun to see all the animals again (actually first time for Conner, he doesn't remember last time, he was too little).

I LOVE the gorillas, they are so neat to watch.

We watched one of Sadies puppies the other day. Can you say TWINS!!

We just started school today,  I will update about that soon. :)

Swimming in the country!

Some friends invited us to go swimming the other day, it was so fun.
And here come to find out this is the same spot my husband and his siblings swam in, how funny.

The Amish letting their horses get some water, so neat.

I found this swing at a garage sale for $5, it needed some fixing up and paint. My husband fixed it and I painted. Look how nice it turned out!

Old chair project

I picked these up at a garage sale and decided to make them into the boys school chairs.

So I painted them Almond cream and Josh stained the seat for me. :)

Finished!!

Summer adventures!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had fun with family at the campground and visiting some other places.
Last week we met the "bug guy". He brought all his bugs to the library for us to see.  The boys holding some cute catepillars called, Cecropia Silkmoth. And also holding a cockroach.
Outdoor movie theater, we love it there!

One nice afternoon we went picking strawberries and visiting my great uncle. We brought some friends along!
My great uncle telling the kids how he lost his finger, all their mouths dropped. I love listening to stories from back when.

Daddy broke a chair!! HAHA

Cuddles before the fireworks!

The boys found some caterpillars on milkweed and now they have formed chrysalis, we are so excited! There are three of them, I will update on them soon.

Our sweet pups!

Sorry I am not consistent with this blog these days, I am a busy lady with the pups, school and other around the house jobs.
So the pups are almost three weeks old, they are growing so fast. We are enjoying them as much as we can while they are here with us. I can already see the tears when we say goodbye to them. Sadie is doing great also, she is a good mom, Thankfully some of the pups are going to friends or family so we will see them often. :)

Here are some of the cute pics of the pups and all of us enjoying them.

These pics were from fishing in a new spot out in the middle of nowhere. It was very beautiful, but Josh decided to walk miles down the river with his waders and being left here for awhile alone with the boys was a bit scary, especially because there was bear tracks right next to the river, yikes!! It was fun, and we caught a couple trout too.

The gnats were bothering this boy like crazy.

I read a tree house book to the boys while they fished.
